Akatsuki is a "D" who transfers into class Brynhildr. Before that, her life was pretty rough—she'd spent most of it being used and exploited by others.
When she first manifested her "D" powers, the Mafia immediately caught wind of it. They put her to work leveraging one of her core abilities: gem production. She was basically a resource to them until Yuu stepped in and got her out. After that, she ended up with a cult dedicated to worshipping Dragons. They treated her like a goddess and convinced her that she actually was one—a belief that stuck with her for a while.
Her imaginary weapon manifests as a Dragon.
