Tanegashima
Everyone initially pegged him as just another solid backup at the U-17 Training Camp. Turns out he was actually one of the 1st Stringers the whole time—ranked No. 2 on the All-Japan Junior Representatives team. He skipped the team's international trip because he has a genuine fear of flying.
He's the kind of guy who does things mostly for the fun of it. Childish antics don't bother him either; he was spotted joy-riding around the camp on a segway like he owned the place. Tokugawa Kazuya spotted him watching the middle schoolers tear through the high school players, and noted that Tanegashima seemed genuinely entertained by how fast they were climbing the court rankings. He was there as part of the 1st Court crew at the time.
Off the court, he works as a model for Men's Non-no, a Japanese fashion magazine aimed at teenage guys. His noticeably darker complexion hints at southern island origins. Given his airplane phobia, he took a ship to get to Tokyo instead of flying like a normal person.
