Kael
A half-elf archer who crosses paths with Will on the road. Kael's got that classic loner vibe—gruff, suspicious, the type who'd rather keep to himself. He's been burned before, which explains why he's so defensive about letting people get close.
But Will's different somehow. It takes a while—like, really a while—but Kael eventually drops the walls. Will ends up being the first person Kael actually considers a genuine friend, which is kind of a big deal given how guarded he's been about relationships his whole life.
As a half-elf, he's always had one foot in two worlds, and that's probably colored how he sees people. But once he decides you're worth his time, he's solid.
