Tokugawa Ieyasu
One of the Three Unifiers, Ieyasu might be the shortest of the trio, but he more than compensates through his exceptional ability to command loyalty—especially from Honda Tadakatsu, his most trusted (and some might argue, most formidable) general. He fights using a bladed staff, adopting a style reminiscent of Maeda Toshiie's approach.
In Sengoku Basara 2, Ieyasu becomes something of a running joke in Tadakatsu's story mode: he gets kidnapped repeatedly, often right in front of Tadakatsu just after being rescued from the last abduction. This sends the devoted general on an endless cycle of rescue missions. Fans often connect this comedic misfortune to Ieyasu's past as a hostage under Imagawa—back when he went by the name Matsudaira Takechiyo, which is what Tadakatsu calls him throughout the story.
By Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes, Ieyasu becomes playable with a Basara move that summons Tadakatsu onto the field to unleash his own devastating technique. His design got a significant overhaul in Sengoku Basara 3, where he's portrayed as noticeably older and taller, and trades his staff for brass knuckles in combat.
