Nicolas is one half of Benriya's duo and arguably the more intimidating half—imposing, skilled with a blade, and naturally reserved. He's deaf and primarily communicates through sign language, though he can speak to some degree.
Along with his partner Worick, he takes on jobs as a hired gun for various criminal interests. As an A/0 level Twilight (or "tagged," referring to the dog tags that mark him), Nicolas occupies an uncomfortable position: powerful enough to be useful, dangerous enough to be despised. The streets have strong opinions about what he is.
Beneath the hardened exterior, though, he's got genuine affection for Nina. He's also gradually warming up to Alex living at the Benriya place—a shift that doesn't come naturally to someone like him, but it's happening.
