Hanae
Hanae is a first-year high school student who ends up seeing yokai after a chance encounter on his way home before his first day of school. The experience kicks off his ability to perceive them, which eventually leads him to start working as an assistant at Mononokean under his classmate Abeno.
He shares a class with Abeno, though they don't know each other well at first. It's only after getting tangled up with yokai that Hanae's life takes an unexpected turn, landing him at the shop where Abeno works. Despite having no prior experience with the supernatural world, Hanae takes on the job and learns the ropes on the fly.
