A foxian working in the Sky-Faring Commission, Fugue was once the chief representative of the Whistling Flames merchant guild—before her life got turned upside down.
The person everyone knew as Tingyun turned out to be an imposter: the Lord Ravager Phantylia, wearing her face. The real Tingyun nearly didn't survive what happened next. She was found half-dead in the wreckage of a Whistling Flames ship, and Ruan Mei pulled her back from the brink of death. Now she's someone different—someone new. She calls herself Fugue.
Whether it's the pain of never going home or the pull of drifting through the stars, something's changed in her. She's reclaimed her life from the ashes and started walking her own path again, even if that path leads nowhere.
Visually, Fugue is a young foxian woman with fair skin, sharp green eyes, and long brown hair that shifts into deep red at the ends. Her bangs frame her face delicately, with a distinctive center bang that curves from her forehead down her left cheek. Most of her hair is gathered into an elaborate back bun secured with golden leaf pins and a large flower ornament, while two wavy strands fall freely to her chest. A golden leaf accessory on the right side of her head dangles a red tassel and cotton ball. Her foxian ears sit atop her head in warm brown, and her large bushy tail transitions from white at the base to soft pink at the tip.
Her outfit is a modified hanfu in brown and red with golden trim, the interior lined in matching gold with red petal-like stripes. Chrysanthemums and gold embroidery cover much of the garment. Large golden flowers adorn her shoulders, while her cuffs and chest are shaped like white and pink lotus petals. A metallic gold sash cinches her waist, centered with a lotus ornament and decorated with blue and pink feathers on the right side and hanging teardrop charms. The back ties in a bow above a golden-outlined red ginkgo leaf pattern on the hanfu itself.
She wears black shoes with gold heels and red soles, paired with red nail polish. A striking yellow-orange flower-shaped scar runs across her right shoulder and down her back to her collarbone—a mark of her corruption by Destruction, and a reminder of what she survived.
