Fudō is one of the five Nanto Goshasei, the legendary guardians sworn to protect Yuria. He wasn't always a hero, though—he earned the nickname "Fudoh the Ogre" as a feared outlaw whose rampage once terrorized even the young Raoh. Everything changed when a very young Yuria stood between him and some puppies he was destroying, risking her own life to save them. Her courage showed him that life itself was sacred, and the violent thug became the gentle mountain warrior fans remember today.
As someone who'd grown up without parents, Fudō devoted himself to caring for orphaned children alongside his duties as one of Yuria's protectors. He eventually faced off against Raoh, who wanted to eliminate the one person who'd ever truly frightened him. During their fight, Fudō actually managed to back Raoh down—but Raoh had ordered his own soldiers to shoot him if he retreated. They fired on Fudō instead, killing him.
The name "Fudoh" comes from Acala, the Buddhist deity.
