Brolin is the 9th Prince of the Black Dragon Mountain Empire and grandson of the World Master Hargrave. His royal status meant he didn't show up to the Universe Trainee Mercenary Exam alone—he had an entire entourage of Stellar Level 9 bodyguards backing him up.
When word got out about the World Within a World and the treasures Kabu had stashed there, Brolin saw an opportunity. With Hargrave's help, he managed to sway 220,000 of the 500,000 troops the empire had sent, getting them to follow his lead in pursuit of those riches.
