Before the isekai, Tsukasa harbored real resentment toward Akira. The guy just wouldn't acknowledge him, which stung more than he'd probably admit. That lack of recognition ate at him, and it drove a wedge between them that only widened over time. By the time they both got pulled into this new world, whatever connection they might've had was already pretty much gone.
