Haruna Sairenji is the second female lead of To Love Ru and Rito's classmate—though she's really the girl he's actually interested in. She's been into him since junior high, drawn to his kindness and gentle nature, and he's started developing real feelings for her too. The problem? She thinks it's one-sided, so she keeps quiet out of loyalty to Lala, who's also after Rito. When she finally opens up about it though, Lala takes it surprisingly well and just accepts Haruna as her romantic rival while staying friends. That's basically the vibe of their whole dynamic.
She shares an apartment with her older sister Akiho and has a pretty severe phobia of ghosts and supernatural stuff—though she makes a partial exception for Oshizu Murasame. Whenever she gets scared, she grabs whatever's nearby (usually Rito) and swings him around frantically to help herself feel better. There's also this constant running joke where Rito's about to finally confess to her and something always ruins the moment.
Personality-wise, Haruna's responsible and genuinely likable enough that her classmates voted her class rep even though she never actually ran for it. She's on the tennis club and left-handed.
