Ortwin is an archduke candidate from Drewanchel and the younger brother of Adolphine. He's got a complicated relationship with his position—everyone's pushing him to eventually become the next Aub Drewanchel, but he'd honestly rather skip all that and focus on research instead. The thing is, he struggles to go against what his sister wants, so he ends up throwing himself into the work anyway, trying to meet the standard of excellence that comes with being groomed as the next archduke. It's basically a case of duty winning out over personal preference, at least for now.
