Kobungo carries the Fraternity bead and comes from a family that runs the Konaya bed-and-breakfast—he's naturally gifted at hospitality and looking after people. Three years back, he enlisted as a foot soldier alongside his foster brother Genpachi when their unit was dispatched to a remote northern village to deal with some kind of incident. Things went south fast. Man-eating demons attacked them both brutally, but the brothers didn't stay dead. They came back transformed, now able to shift into demons themselves. He's got a peony-flower birthmark on his lower back.
