He actually runs Ribenjiya, basically a revenge-for-hire operation (the name's a playful corruption of the word "revenge"), where he takes on jobs from people who can't otherwise afford to settle their blood debts.
His method is distinctive and unsettling: he suffocates victims by slapping sheets of gold lacquer over their faces. There's an obvious irony there—the same beautiful material he works with professionally becomes a tool for killing.
