Waking was assigned to work as a bartender at Eden Hall, though he started out pretty uncertain about the whole thing. But he quickly came around—Sasakura won him over, and he developed genuine respect for him. When the Hotel Cardinal shut down its Eden Hall location, Waking moved on. He stuck with Ryu though, continuing as his partner and student when they opened the new Eden Hall R&T.
