Taehoon comes across as cold and detached, but he's quick to turn violent and reckless without much regard for how it affects others. He'll beat people up just for kicks, and isn't above threatening someone by hurting their friends to get what he wants. He's arrogant about his Taekwondo skills, convinced it's all he needs to dominate the UFC and everyone around him—a attitude that earned him the nickname "Nutjob Taehoon" during his Max FC days, and plenty of people hate him for it.
What's interesting is that beneath the brutality, Taehoon is genuinely intelligent and highly perceptive. He just doesn't care about school or academics. He reads people well, trusts his gut instincts, and they usually pan out. He can spot a trained martial artist from a mile away—he clocked Ji Yeonwoo as a Kyokushinkai karateka just by noticing the bruises from sparring, his conditioned knuckles, and his crazy stamina. He's equally sharp about noticing when someone's tailing him.
He's all about action over overthinking. His core value is freedom—doing whatever he wants and never letting anyone else call the shots. He actually despises people who let others control them, even though he doesn't get why guys like Dowoon and Yeonwoo operate that way. Still, he ends up wanting to help them anyway.
Despite his cold exterior, he genuinely cares about people around him. He started out as Hobin's enemy, but after getting beaten by him, Taehoon became his ally and took him on as a Taekwondo student.
