He started out on Nobunaga's side, but they've since become enemies—now he's the one standing against him. His whole thing is fighting for justice and taking down anyone who spreads chaos and disorder, which is basically Nobunaga's entire brand. In a fight, he carries a long sword and a folding buckler, and his whole combat approach has serious superhero energy, particularly the Metal Heroes vibe.
Personality-wise, he's got that classic tsundere thing going on. With Oichi especially, he'll be rough about telling her to shut up or stop crying, but then he'll turn around and awkwardly confess his feelings for her—sometimes even showing up with flowers. It's endearingly contradictory.
