A cosmic being who arrived on Earth specifically to watch over Mahiro. Nyaruko (that's the pronunciation) is basically always in a good mood—she's the type who's happy more often than not. She's genuinely into anime, manga, games, and superhero stuff, and fans often note that her interests are pretty much indistinguishable from a regular otaku's.
The thing about Nyaruko that gets the most attention, though, is her obsession with Mahiro. She's got constant perverted thoughts about him and is deeply in love—she's said it was love at first sight. It's pretty much her defining characteristic outside of the whole cosmic protector angle.
What's interesting is that despite all the cheerfulness and goofiness, Nyaruko is genuinely terrifying in combat. She doesn't hold back when fighting, but even when she's being absolutely brutal, she never loses that bright, upbeat personality. It's a weird combination, but it works.
