Masato is a demon who works collecting souls for Hell. He's best known for his bitter rivalry with Rinne, which goes way back to elementary school—Rinne hit him with a cross during a confrontation, an injury serious enough that Masato needed surgery and five stitches to recover. He's carried that grudge ever since.
True to his name (which roughly translates to "an evil, narrow-minded person"), Masato lives up to the description. Beyond his soul-collecting duties, he wields fire as his primary power, making him a genuine threat when his and Rinne's paths cross.
