A classmate of Chiaki's who's basically the comic relief of the group. His peers call him "Idiotic child"—and honestly, it's less of a nickname and more just an accurate description of how he comes across. He's got a pretty obvious crush on Haruka, which leads him to some pretty desperate measures. At one point he actually cross-dresses (Kana forced him into it initially) just to fly under Chiaki's radar, since Chiaki gets jealous and furious whenever he shows up. His biggest transgression? Helping Haruka cook dinner—which apparently was enough to set Chiaki off. When he's in female disguise, everyone calls him "Mako-chan." The whole thing's played for laughs, and it's hard not to find the situation ridiculous.
