Haku
The Hidden Mist Village has always been torn apart by conflict, and for generations they weaponized shinobi with kekkei genkai—advanced bloodlines that made them devastatingly powerful. Over time, though, those same abilities became a source of fear and hatred. People with advanced blood were hunted down, forced into hiding just to survive. Haku was one of the last carriers of such a bloodline in the village.
As a child, Haku's father discovered that his mother possessed a kekkei genkai. He killed her on the spot and came after Haku next. In pure terror, the boy killed his own father and ran. Convinced he was nothing but a monster—unloved and alone—he ended up living in the slums.
Everything changed when Zabuza found him there. The moment Zabuza looked down at the kid, Haku felt a strange recognition: "You have the same eyes as me." Zabuza saw what Haku was immediately and decided to take him in. He raised Haku as a tool—a weapon to use whenever needed—but it gave the boy a place to belong and a way to master his abilities. Eventually Haku became a Hunter-Nin. When Zabuza's assassination attempt on the Mizukage failed, the two fled the village together, with Haku still bound to his role as a tool.
Appearance and Combat Style
Haku's slender, delicate frame works to his advantage. He's often mistaken for a girl, something that's caused more than a few awkward moments—like when he bumped into Naruto while gathering medicine for Zabuza's injuries. But looks are deceiving. Beneath that soft exterior is a fighter with incredible speed and technical precision. He's ruthless too; his knowledge of the human body lets him target vital organs with deadly accuracy, usually using senbon needles with lethal precision.
Abilities
His kekkei genkai is water-based, which fits his Mist heritage. His signature techniques are devastating: "Flying Water Needles" lets him create razor-sharp ice needles from water and control them mid-flight with perfect accuracy. "Demonic Ice Mirrors" is even flashier—he surrounds his opponent with mirrors made of ice, merges with them, and bounces between reflections to attack from every angle at once. What really sets him apart is his ability to perform jutsu with one hand, which opens up combat possibilities most shinobi simply can't access.
Character
Despite his skills and his role as Zabuza's weapon, Haku is fundamentally kind. He's genuinely bothered by pointless death and fights not out of malice but out of loyalty. His philosophy is simple: a person becomes truly strong when they have something precious to protect. For Haku, that's always been Zabuza.
