Michael is Alto's classmate and friendly rival—the kind of guy who's good at everything and knows it. He's a sharp marksman with a simple philosophy: always hit your target, whether that's an enemy or a potential girlfriend. True to form, he's built quite the reputation as a ladies' man and even came up with Alto's "Princess Alto" nickname, which has stuck around ever since.
When he's not handling his normal school life, Michael serves as 2nd Lieutenant of the S.M.S. Skull Squadron, piloting a blue VF-25G configured for long-range gunner and sniper work. He had reservations about Alto joining the squadron at first, but eventually came around. He wears corrective glasses in everyday life.
Michael's past weighs on him more than his laid-back demeanor suggests. His parents died when he was young, leaving his older sister Jessica to raise him—until she took her own life years later following a friendly fire incident that destroyed her reputation.
What really sets Michael apart is how perceptive he is. He's one of the few people who picks up on the complicated love triangle brewing between Alto, Ranka, and Sheryl, and more importantly, he's among the first to realize that Grace is orchestrating something dangerous behind the scenes. He's also childhood friends with Klan Klan, though everyone just calls him Michel anyway.
