He originally stayed with Mizuno, but moved in with Souhei after the guy rebuilt his house—which had been trashed by the girls. He's also surprisingly into making doujinshi on the side, which is kind of an unexpected hobby for a military guy.
His exact rank isn't clear, though it's hinted he's somewhere in the Master Sergeant or Sergeant Major range.
