An S-Rank Hunter and Jin-Woo's father. Il-Hwan is fiercely protective of his family—so much so that he brutally beat Hwang Dong-Su senseless after discovering the guy had lied about Jin-Woo's status and fed false information to the Americans about him being some kind of monster.
About a decade before the main story kicks off, Il-Hwan vanished inside a dungeon during a raid. Everyone assumed he was dead, which meant his wife had to raise their kids alone. Things got worse when she fell into Eternal Slumber six years later. That's when Jin-Woo decided to follow his father's path and become a hunter himself—partly to support the family, partly to cover his mother's medical expenses.
Deep down, though, Il-Hwan clearly cares more about his family than anything else. Cross him or mess with the people he loves, and you'll pay for it.
