Thistle is the mage who created the dungeon on The Island. He's not someone you'd want to have a reasonable conversation with—he comes across as irrational and single-minded, especially when it comes to his devotion to King Delgal and the Golden Country.
His nervous habits are hard to miss. When frustrated, he'll injure himself: scratching his head until it bleeds, chewing at his thumb. It's a pretty grim tell of what's going on in his head.
As the dungeon's lord, Thistle has massive control over its layout and the creatures inside it. The dungeon's power has also kept him alive for over a thousand years. He's constantly reshaping the place—he'll open sinkholes to swallow enemies or create escape routes for himself. With monsters, he's more of a commander type: he calls them in when he needs them or sends them on specific tasks, like when he had the Red Dragon track down King Delgal. He's particularly fond of using small dragons he calls "the magician's eyes" to spy on what's happening throughout the dungeon.
