Sakae Ashiya is Hanae's father and a former secret worker at the Mononokean who vanished years ago. Whether he's actually dead or exists as some kind of spirit remains a mystery.
He's got striking golden hair and eyes, though nobody knows if that's natural or the result of dye and contacts. His hair falls to about his neck—sometimes loose, sometimes half-tied back. He's usually spotted wearing a school uniform.
