Otes was a designer at the Goha Corporation who became disillusioned with what Dueling had become. Frustrated by the state of the game, he wanted to restore the fun and genuine joy that kids should experience when they Duel. He eventually settled on Yuga Ohdo as his choice for the King of Duels—someone he believed could bring that spark back.
To test Yuga's potential, Otes took on the persona of the Hologram Man, projecting himself through a Relic that became shrouded in urban legend and mystery. This was his way of pushing Yuga to prove himself worthy of the role Otes had envisioned for him.
