Crocalor is a bipedal, crocodilian Pokémon with a stout, melon-shaped body. Its body is primarily red, with a white face and chest that resemble a mask, plus black hands and feet—each with three digits. Yellow rectangular scales run down its back and tail, and black-and-yellow stripes pattern its chest. The face itself is distinctly crocodilian: long snout, red square cheeks, two red triangles for nostrils, and a hooked upper jaw lined with three pairs of sharp teeth visible when it opens its mouth.
The standout feature is the mass of orange fire energy crowning its head, shaped like a nest and patterned with yellow squares. Perched on top of this is a yellow, glowing egg-shaped fireball—born from Crocalor's own fire energy and surplus vitality. Crocalor can control this fireball freely, launching it to use in battle. Interestingly, Pokémon Sleep footage shows that Crocalor (along with its evolutionary relatives) sometimes sleeps with one eye open, and that fireball stays put even as the Pokémon sways in its sleep.
Crocalor's fire abilities come from an internal flame sac with a valve connected directly to its vocal cords. This means whenever it breathes fire, it produces guttural cries—and its voice is far from pretty. The more intense the flames it unleashes, the more destructive and harsh those vocalizations become.
Evolution: Crocalor evolves from Fuecoco and into Skeledirge.
