Hara was Shitenhōji's captain during Shiraishi Kuranosuke's second year, making him one of the school's legendary captains alongside Taira Yoshiyuki, who had led the team the year before when Shiraishi and Oshitari Kenya were freshmen.
He's best known for steering Shitenhōji to the Nationals the year before Seigaku's big win. But for reasons that remain unclear, Hara stepped away from club tennis in the spring of his third year—meaning he didn't actually captain that Nationals run. He's currently a first-year high school student.
