Tsubame wants to track down a human named Taniozaki who once helped her out. Natsume steps up to help with the search, and the two end up getting pretty close in the process. When they finally find Taniozaki, things get awkward—Natsume realizes she can't actually talk to him since he's just a regular person and she's a spirit. That's when Tarusaru mentions a special kimono that's supposedly up for grabs at the youkai festival's competition. The catch? It can temporarily turn a spirit human for a whole day. Suddenly Natsume has a real goal: win that thing so she can actually have a conversation with Taniozaki.
