Hairu is a First Class investigator under Koori Ui and serves as deputy leader of S1 Squad. She's a veteran of the Owl Suppression Operation and was part of Squad 0, working directly under Kishou Arima.
Despite her rank and experience, Hairu comes across as remarkably normal for someone her age—eager, polite, and genuinely happy to finally meet peers in the Quinx. There's something slightly awkward about her position; she wants to be treated as an equal by people much younger than her usual colleagues, and she's got a pretty tomboyish vibe overall.
Her combat record speaks for itself. During the ambush on Matsumae and her crew alongside Fura, Kijima, and Furuta, Hairu dominated the fight and managed to wound Matsumae badly. The victory got messy though when Kijima snatched one of Matsumae's accomplices, Yuuma—a win that technically belonged to Hairu. She clearly wasn't thrilled about that.
When the CCG went after the Tsukiyama Family, Hairu led the vanguard into the Lunatic Eclipse Building. She and Kijima cut through the investigators' enemies without much trouble until they hit the top floors, where Matsumae, Mairo, and several other ghouls were waiting. Hairu actually expressed genuine interest in claiming Matsumae's kagune-formed sword and shield as a quinque. The fight stayed relatively balanced until Hairu slipped on blood—a split-second mistake that let Matsumae drive her kagune straight through her.
Even badly hurt, Hairu wasn't done. She ordered her subordinates to hand over her other quinque and opened fire with T-Human, finally breaking through Matsumae's koukaku shield.
