Nihongou
This blade has one of the most storied ownership histories in Japanese swordcraft. It started as an imperial treasure before Emperor Oogimachi handed it off to Ashikaga Yoshiaki. From there it passed through the hands of some of Japan's most powerful warlords—Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi both owned it at different points.
The name "Nihongou" is associated with its time under Hideyoshi's ownership, though some debate exists about whether this was its original designation. There's an interesting theory floating around that the blade was actually a tachi with exceptional thrusting qualities—so good, in fact, that it may have eventually been repurposed as a spearhead rather than used as a traditional sword.
