Aoi Rokusho is a former Konoha chunin turned rogue ninja who ends up working for Amegakure. He's best known for his role as a villain in the Todori Burning Fire Race arc, where he was hired by the Wagarashi Clan to sabotage Idate Morino's chances of winning against their own competitor.
What makes Aoi's story interesting is how personal his betrayal of Konoha actually was. He manipulated his own student, Idate, into stealing two major treasures—the Raijin Sword (supposedly used by the Second Hokage) and a scroll containing forbidden jutsu—by promising him a chunin promotion. After defecting to Amegakure, he was tracked down by Idate's brother, Ibiki Morino, the famous interrogation specialist. Aoi captured and tortured both brothers, but Ibiki managed to escape with the scroll despite the brutal treatment. This established Aoi as someone willing to hurt people close to him for power.
Over time, Aoi rose to jonin rank in Amegakure, though he spent much of his tenure doing grunt work that other ninja considered beneath them. Combat-wise, he relies on an umbrella and poisoned needles to pin opponents, which is solid enough but fairly straightforward. His real advantage was wielding the stolen Raijin Sword—until it met Sasuke's Chidori and Naruto's Rasengan in quick succession. The blade cracked and then shattered. Knocked off a cliff by Naruto afterward, Aoi fell into the water below with no way to slow his descent. He'd actually mentioned earlier that anyone going over the edge wouldn't survive, and unlike Sasuke and Sakura, he had no jutsu to save him. Fans still debate whether he made it out alive, though the implication was pretty dark.
