Brutella is a minor recurring character from the Pokémon anime, best known for her antagonistic role in the early episodes.
She first showed up in "Beauty and the Beach," where she attempted to sabotage Moe's restaurant alongside Team Rocket. The scheme escalated to Team Rocket launching a full attack on a local beauty contest using a Gyarados submarine. Ash ultimately foiled the plan with help from his Pidgeotto and Charmander, though the collateral damage destroyed Brutella's own establishment—a shop she'd been running.
Her restaurant didn't stay destroyed for long. Brutella made a brief cameo in "Tentacool & Tentacruel" trying to rebuild, only to have the structure demolished again when her cousin Nastina accidentally toppled onto it. She received additional mentions throughout that episode in the Japanese version, though these references were removed during the English localization due to the controversial nature of the "Beauty and the Beach" episode.
