Koyuki is a young fairy known for her striking appearance: pale skin, dark eyes, and dark blue or purple hair styled in pigtails with pink bows. She's rarely seen without her signature cyan winter coat, blue scarf, and oversized cyan hat—pretty much her trademark look.
She hails from a snowy island dotted with mountains, home to the Yukidaruman snowmen. The cold climate suits her well, given her ice-based abilities.
Koyuki made her debut on October 26, 1992, in the episode "Anpanman and Koyuki-chan." The story has her accidentally freezing Anpanman when he discovers her near his home. Fans often note that her early appearances showed her struggling to control her powers. Years later, in "Melonpanna and Koyuki-chan" (February 9, 2001), she befriended Melonpanna during a period when she couldn't access her abilities—a chance for the two to bond on more equal footing.
