Kai
Kei's estranged childhood friend who reconnects with him under desperate circumstances. When Kai discovers that Kei is an Ajin, he doesn't hesitate—despite years of distance between them, he immediately helps Kei escape from those hunting him down. As the two flee together, they run into plenty of trouble along the way.
What's notable about Kai is that he fundamentally refuses to see Kei as anything other than human, regardless of what Kei actually is. To him, the Ajin classification doesn't change who his friend really is.
