Ako is a third-year student at Public Kanon Elementary, in the same class as Souta (Kanade's little brother). She's unusually mature for a nine-year-old—almost uncomfortably so—and doesn't hesitate to lecture people older than her, especially Hibiki and Kanade. Most people had no idea she was secretly operating as Cure Muse, a masked fighter who helped the Pretty Cures during battles by using glowing piano keys to create barriers and restraints. She'd show up to bail them out of tight spots but always left the actual finishing moves to them. Her Fairy Tone partner, Dodory, handled all the talking while she stayed silent behind the mask, repeatedly insisting she wouldn't officially join the Cures until the timing was right.
In Episode 35, everything changes. Ako reveals she's the princess of Major Land—and the daughter of Aphrodite and Mephisto. After her father disappeared, she'd run away to Kanon Town and gone into hiding with her grandfather, Otokichi. When Mephisto made off with the Legendary Score, Ako's powers as a Pretty Cure kicked in. Her transformation is pretty dramatic: that short orange hair stretches down to her knees and sprouts two yellow ribbons at the ends. While Cure Muse operates in black, her true form is all yellow. She doesn't have a dedicated weapon, but she uses her secondary Fairy Tone, Tiry, to purify enemies.
Catchphrase: "Playing the Goddess' tune, Cure Muse!"
Ako holds the distinction of being the youngest Pretty Cure in the entire franchise.
