Marcel Galliard was a childhood friend of Reiner, Bertholdt, and Annie, growing up alongside them in Marley's Warrior program. He was the older brother of Porco Galliard and shared the same ambitions as the other candidates—to inherit one of Marley's Nine Titans and secure a better future for their families.
In year 845, Marcel was part of the initial assault on Paradis Island's walls, chosen as one of the Warriors sent to carry out the invasion. He possessed the power to transform into the Jaw Titan, one of Marley's most formidable assets. However, his mission ended almost as soon as it began. The sudden, unexpected appearance of Ymir as a Pure Titan during the assault threw the operation into chaos, and Marcel's story was cut short by this turn of events.
