Lucifer used to be Heaven's top archangel—basically the gold standard for celestial beings. But pride got the better of her. She started pushing back against God's will, and that rebellion cost her everything. She got cast out of Heaven and fell hard.
Things got worse after her first major clash with the Seven Mortal Sins. Belial cursed her with the Garb of Punishment, a nasty barbed body-chain that looks like a tattoo covering her skin. It's powered by the Seven Sins themselves, and it does exactly what the name suggests—it punishes her constantly. The thing keeps her in constant pain and causes her to bleed regularly. It's meant to be a permanent reminder of her fall.
