Kusune is a ninja carrying Iou's ninja tool, Tsuru-Kame. He and his partner Gameru tried to get ninja tools from Iou directly, but Iou refused to hand them over to outsiders. When Naruto Uzumaki and Neji Hyūga fought the pair, they found themselves at a standstill against Iou's prototype weapons. The two were finally taken down by Tenten once she got her hands on Iou's newer tool, Jidanda.
