Lelouch is the protagonist of Code Geass and the Eleventh Prince of the Holy Britannian Empire—son of the 98th Emperor, Charles zi Britannia. He's smart, composed, and carries himself with the arrogance you'd expect from someone born into royalty. At school, he's the friendly, easygoing type everyone likes. It's an act. As Zero, he drops the mask entirely.
What really defines him is his intellect and charisma. He doesn't bother with schoolwork—considers it beneath him despite being more than capable—but he'll happily challenge nobles to chess. He's driven by a deep contempt for the aristocracy, viewing them as overprivileged parasites living off everyone else's labor. His stoicism is almost legendary; he tends to miss social cues entirely, completely oblivious to things like Shirley's obvious feelings for him.
Lelouch is ruthless and unapologetically selfish. His mission to reshape the world stems from avenging his mother's death and protecting his sister Nunnally, though over time he convinces himself the goal transcends personal vengeance—that the world itself needs what only he can give it. Yet despite the cold calculation, he's genuinely compassionate toward those close to him. He's the kind older brother to Nunnally and remains loyal to Suzaku even after they become enemies. When it comes to his soldiers, he may seem distant, but he values them as critical allies rather than expendable pieces.
Geass:
Lelouch's Geass—a power granted by C.C.—is called "The Power of Absolute Obedience." Through direct eye contact, he can plant commands into someone's mind with hypnotic force, compulsing them to obey. A Geass Sigil manifests in his left eye when activated, projecting from his eye to theirs and searing the command directly into their consciousness. Of all the Geass abilities in the series, his is the most thoroughly explored and comes with the heaviest restrictions and side effects.
