Saya runs a small cafe near Kokonotsu's school and has had a thing for him for a while. When Hotaru first showed up trying to get Kokonotsu to take over his family's candy shop, Saya was pretty worried about losing him to the city—but she and Hotaru bonded fast over actually wanting the same thing. Both of them were determined to keep him in town, just for different reasons.
What really stands out about Saya is her unexpected skill with toys and games. She's genuinely talented at it, which became obvious when she absolutely destroyed Hotaru at Menko, a traditional flicking card game. Hotaru took the loss seriously enough to start calling her "Saya-shi" afterward—that formal, old-fashioned suffix usually reserved for showing respect to a master. It's kind of a running joke how much that one game mattered.
She's the younger twin of Tou.
