Homura Mitokado came up through the ranks alongside Hiruzen Sarutobi—the two were close as kids and stayed that way. Both trained under the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, along with their teammate Koharu Utatane. The three of them ran missions together for years before their lives took different turns.
When Hiruzen rose to become Third Hokage, Homura and Koharu stepped into advisory roles, eventually forming what's now known as the Konoha Council.
