Lacus is a vampire who holds the typical vampire worldview: humans are nothing more than livestock to him. He finds it darkly amusing when humans actually believe vampires came to protect them, pointing out the obvious flaw in that logic—you don't protect what you own.
Not much is known about his human past beyond the fact that he had siblings. What's documented is a turning point in 2012, when Lacus killed Tomoe Saotome during a feeding. He drank too much of her blood, and Tomoe was the sister of Yoichi Saotome—a detail that's likely significant, though the full context of that relationship remains unclear.
