Years later, he emerged as Sunfire—outfit emblazoned with a rising sun motif—and launched attacks on America. The X-Men got in his way. During the confrontation, Shiro killed his uncle Tomo before heading back to Japan. The battle marked a turning point, forcing him to confront the very man who'd shaped his worldview.
