He and Shinbei work together on the Equipment Committee and genuinely get along, probably because they're basically cut from the same cloth: both laid-back, pretty spacey, and totally fine just going with the flow.
The guy's obsessed with slugs. Like, genuinely obsessed. He carries a jar around with several of them that he keeps as pets, and he's actually bothered to name each one and can tell them apart. It's kind of his whole thing.
