Misaki is an 18-year-old student living with his older brother Takahiro. When he was eight, a car accident took their parents' lives—an event that's haunted him ever since. He's carried guilt over it for years, not just about losing them, but about forcing Takahiro to abandon his own education and work to keep them afloat.
Desperate to get into a decent college, Misaki needs serious academic help. So Takahiro calls in a favor: his best friend Usami Akihiko agrees to tutor him. But then Takahiro gets transferred for work and moves away, leaving Misaki in Usami's care.
