Gina is a Makai Alchemist and professional thief who occasionally teams up with Sword to hunt Horrors. She's got a reputation for being pretty unprincipled—manipulative, flirtatious, and willing to bend the rules. That said, she clearly cares about Sophie, constantly pushing her and Sword to work together as a team.
The show drops hints that Gina has real feelings for Sword, though she's not exactly straightforward about it. She even proposed to him at one point, though it turned out to be part of a job. But in Episode 12, when Sophie pointblank asked who Gina likes, Gina gave an answer and then stared pointedly toward the bathroom door where Sword was standing—basically confirming what viewers had been suspecting all along. Between her devotion to Sophie and her obvious attachment to Sword, Gina basically fills the role of a mother figure to both of them, with Sword as the reluctant father of the group.
