Zixuan and Xiaojie go way back—they met as kids when he stepped in to stop some bullies giving her a hard time. He basically told her to call him "big brother" after that. Later, he left to train his martial arts seriously, but when word reached him that Xiaojie was in trouble, he came back for her. He's had feelings for her ever since.
