France is a country overflowing with pride and an obsession with beauty. His history's been a rollercoaster—periods of strength followed by collapse, then recovery, then decline again, a pattern that's pretty much stuck around.
His relationship with England is complicated and goes back centuries. France was basically a teenager when England was still a kid, which he absolutely took advantage of—teasing and picking on him became his favorite pastime. His name's pretty literal—"Francis" is basically French for "Frenchman," and "Bonnefoy" comes from "bonne-foi," meaning "good faith." The creator originally planned to call him Jean Epine before switching things up.
